Daria Dayter, Editor-in-Chief ofPragmatics and Society(SSCI), is Associate Professor in English Linguistics at Tampere University, Finland. She researches persuasion in social media and co-founded the coPRe (communicative practices on Reddit) research network. She is interested in the language of online communities, pragmatics, and discursive identity, and has published research papers in such journals as Discourse, Context & Media,Internet Pragmatics,Journal of Pragmatics, and Perspectives. Some of her books are Discursive Self in Microblogging(John Benjamins, 2016),The Language of Pick-Up Artists(Routledge, 2022; with Sofia Rüdiger), and Pragmatics in Translation(Cambridge University Press, 2023; with Miriam A. Locher and Thomas C. Messerli).
